It's Junior Duck time again in South Dakota
The Junior Duck Stamp Program is an annual contest that provides students with the opportunity to learn about biology and express their knowledge of the beauty, diversity, and interdependence of wildlife through art. The Junior Duck Stamp Contest, partnered with a dynamic arts curriculum, teaches wetlands and waterfowl conservation to students in kindergarten through high school.

Last year in South Dakota, 380 students submitted artwork, and we would love to see that number greatly increased. Informational material and contest entries were mailed to each school in November. Teachers may also request additional entry forms, informational packets, and a detailed curriculum to help you incorporate the Junior Duck Stamp Contest into a broader conservation unit for your students. Make that request by e-mailing ericdavis@rushmore.com. All information will be shipped to you quickly and without cost. More information can also be found at the national Jr. Duck website: http://www.fws.gov/juniorduck. Keep updated on South Dakota's Jr. Duck Stamp Contest at our S.D. website: http://www.sdjuniorduck.org

This contest isn't just educational, it's really fun. Prizes will be awarded to the top 9 entries in four different age groups at a public awards reception held in April.
